So many people are hurting, and don’t know where to turn for help. Calling upon God should be the first thing to do. I’m not talking about a God, I mean the one and only living God. The Father of Jesus Christ. This is the only way to recieve peace within.

The Grief Blog is an excellent source for communicating with someone. They deal with every area, whether it be the death of a child, loss of a spouse, cancer, death and dying, stages of grief, or suicide. The list goes on. If you or anyone you know could use this help, I urge you to please check it out.

Originally this book was to be number four. God gave me the title, “My Alabaster Box,” and began supplying the words. This book will reveal the hardships, and pain, I endured as I struggled with depression throughout the years. I truly believe it will be encouraging, and offer hope for anyone going through the same situation.

What is required for a character to be believable? How do you create yours?

My characters are created from my imagination, and I use the names of my grandchildren for them. To make a character believable I visualize myself as being there with them as the story unfolds. I will also sit back, close my eyes, and talk as though I’m speaking with my grandchildren in order to get the feel of what they might say in these situations.

Deep down inside, who do you write for?

You know I’m tempted to say for myself, but that isn’t necessarily the case. Sure I want to be completely satisfied with what I have written, but my main objective is to bring laughter, thrills, and excitement to children. The other books, such as, my biography, personal experiences, and the struggles I’ve encountered, as well as the obstacles I’ve had to overcome in order to achieve my dream of a becoming a published author, will hopefully be of inspiration to others facing the same or similar situations.

Spreading The Gratitude

For the past several years as I’ve been traveling around the country, I’ve been approaching Soldiers in airports and thanking them for serving for us. On several occasions I have noticed that it felt a little awkward for both of us. There are several reasons, some of which I am even just now learning as I produce this film and talk to more Service Men & Women and Veterans. But they have always appreciated being thanked, and I have always felt better having expressed my gratitude.

I started to think that it would be nice if civilians had a gesture or sign that they could use to say “thank you” quickly and easily without even having to approach. I did some research and found the sign that we are now using.

Is this limited to the military? Not at all. If you look around you I’m sure that you’ll find lots of people who are serving their communities, from local to global. If you appreciate their service, give them a sign. Say “thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Nationwide Consumer Testing of Backyard Decks and Playsets Shows High Levels of Arsenic on Old Wood

WASHINGTON – Results from the largest–ever testing program for arsenic–treated wood, released today by the Environmental Working Group (EWG), show that the public remains at risk from high levels of arsenic leaching out of pressure–treated wood in older decks, playsets, and picnic tables.

Study findings reported in EWG’s “All Hands on Deck” indicate that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was wrong in reassuring the public last February about the safety of existing backyard structures. When the Agency announced that the wood treatment industry had agreed to a voluntary “phase out” of the cancer–causing, arsenic–based pesticide used to pressure-treat the wood in playsets and backyard decks, EPA stated that it did “not believe there is any reason to remove or replace arsenic–treated structures.” [Emphasis added.] But new data show that consumers with old wood structures remain at risk from arsenic that easily wipes off the wood surface. Children who play on arsenic–treated playsets and decks are at particularly high risk.

Raise Your Sights

Does the ever-present threat of disaster surrounding us in the news media sometimes leave you sleepless? Earthquakes, fires, floods and other natural disasters, nuclear war, famine, inflation, job loss and economic failure? Day after day, we are bombarded with threats of all these things. The world’s message of hopelessness is clear; we are on the edge of destruction.

It’s no wonder if we dwell on these things, we can have a very hard time sleeping at night. “What will happen to us? Will our children survive?” Subtle spirits of despair can camp over us like a heavy fog, stifling every urge to worship or seek the Lord.

God’s Word does not ignore these threats of destruction, but realistically concentrates on giving you the hope and courage you need to deal with them. Psalm 91 is a good example: “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you” (Psalm 91:5-7, NKJV).

In the Book of Revelation also, God promises that those who keep His Word and do not deny His Name will be protected! So, as you prepare for sleep tonight, be careful what you concentrate on.

Don’t focus on all the fears and threats of what Satan wants to do; raise your sights to all God will do when you glorify Him!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I praise You for the new revelation I have of You as my Protector…my rock and my shield from harm and devastation. Grant me a greater anointing to boldly proclaim Your Word and not to deny Your Name. Then, “In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust” (Psalm 4:8, AMP). Grant this, dear Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I appreciate my friends and love meeting new people.

With the publication of my first children’s book, “Ashley’s Unforgettable Summer,” I have been really busy promoting. I’ve learned that creating a story and having it published is only the beginning.

In order to experience the totality of God’s plan for my life, I must possess a relentless embrace of both His will and His way. So, step by step I choose to walk obediently to His Word. I choose to establish,declare,and decree the glory of God,regardless of my situation. I will keep a praise in my mouth,hope in my heart,and patience in my spirit.
